The Treasure Plated World

This action-packed story written in 1977 continues with the fictional Southern California universe of Sierra University and other branches of Dynamics Unlimited, primarily Geo-Dynamics. With a more complex plot and stronger character development, the novel seems to pit members of the environmental movement, called the Wreckies, against the mining industry, even if the latter’s members think they are working in the best interests of society.  

Geologist and Vietnam Veteran Gene Kyler flies down from Yellow Knife, Canada at the behest of his bosses at Geo-Dynamics. Another Geo-Dynamics employee meets him at the airport with a company car, but Gene’s luggage is missing, Wreckies are protesting at the airport blocking the exits, and a mysterious foreign car seems to be tailing them out of the airport.  That evening, Gene is kidnapped from his hotel, but manages to outwit his captors.  What forces are at play, and for what stakes? The action takes us on journeys through southern California.
